[b][i]Shropshire 'A' 17-27 Staffordshire 'A'[/i][/b]

The Cream of the Shropshire Crop stood up well against the best of England's County sides but whilst the opposition were missing three of the world's best players it was still a bridge too far as the A's lost to a commendable 17-27 scoreline.

MotM went to Shrewsbury's [b]Adam Sykes[/b] who seems to have finally found his game in the A's with a solid 3/4, narrowly missing out on the maximum finding himself on the wrong end of yet another fine display from the in-form Liam White.

Other commendable performances came from [b]Andreas Hadjilouca[/b] who also contributed 3/4 on his A-Team Debut and like Adam, being dished for his only loss of the day. [b]Steve Camp[/b] chalked up his fifth 3/4 in succession and [b]Jeff Hoof[/b] with another 50% return on his efforts.

All in all it was another performance where it could and perhaps should have been better but it was still a respectable scoreline and showed that Shropshire can be competitive and provide something to build on for the forthcoming season.

Darren Pountney is arranging a Golf Day for all pool players in Shropshire on Saturday 25th September. THis was meant to be in Lincolnshire to coincide with our County match there but as it seems that's not going ahead, it will now be played at the picturesque Lilleshall Hall Golf Club.

There will be various prizes on offer for nearest the pin, longest drive etc. and will include a three course meal.

As soon as Daz has confirmed the prices I will post them on here and we'll start chasing people up for deposits :party:

Special Needs & Merriment award goes to myself, as I played like a cat with no legs.

In our last ever fixture against Derbyshire before the region reshuffle next year, it was Georgie and Shropshire B who took the plaudits today for the Men with a narrow loss to Derbyshire today.

With Steve Espley and Neil Pugh joining the side and contributing with 2/4's, stand out performances from Chris Nolan, Tom Anslow, Jeff Anslow and MotM Dan Owen completed a commendable performance from the ever improving B's.

Shropshire A were on the end of yet another solid Derbyshire A performance with a number of 3's and 4's going against the away side including an excellent 4/4 from Derbyshire's MotM Joe Hood. Danny Weaver and Steve Camp joined MotM Danny Evans with 3/4's with Darren Pountney and Jeff Hoof chipping in with 2's.

Shropshire Ladies chalked up their third win of the year with a comfortable win and 4/4's from Jackie Elliott, Donna Evans, Kerry Webster and LotM Lorraine Griffiths.

Next up is the visit of the all singing, all dancing Staffordshire on August 22nd where all Shropshire sides face a stern test against some of England's most accomplished and decorated players.
